TULSA — 4 YEAR OLD GRADE PAINT MARE — 15.1 HH Tulsa is a young mare with the education, experience, and presence of one well beyond her years. She is stylish, well made, and has had the kind of foundation that gives her plenty of options for the future. Tulsa came from a great trainer in Kansas who put real-world miles on her along with a solid arena foundation. She has been used in a feed yard, had a few cattle roped off her, and was taken to the huge Baker Spain festival where she handled the crowds, commotion, and sights like a seasoned horse. She hasn't spent her life seeing the same four walls, and that experience shows every time you saddle her. In the arena, Tulsa walks, jogs, and lopes nice circles. She side passes, has been correctly started in her spins, and has a great stop. She is responsive and educated without being complicated to ride. Outside, point her somewhere and she goes. We took her on a trail ride through traffic, mud, water, logs, and plenty of ledge, and she handled it all with confidence. What I really like about Tulsa is how many directions she could go. She has enough quality and training to work into a show program, whether you prefer English or western. She could just as easily become a great family horse or all-around mount, and with her temperament and education, I think she could very quickly work her way into a lesson program as well. Tulsa loads, ties, bathes, and ground ties. She has already packed a tremendous amount of experience into four years, yet she has her whole life ahead of her. She is the kind you can enjoy exactly as she is today while still having plenty of horse to develop for whatever job you choose tomorrow.
