Born and raised on the Magiilke Ranch, Boon stayed there until the gentleman we purchased him from bought him. That foundation is evident in the way he carries himself and approaches a job. At just four years old, he has already acquired an education and confidence that can take years to develop. Boon is a polished, correct arena horse. He is balanced, responsive, and thoughtful about everything he does. Put him on cattle and he will track one with purpose. Leave the arena and he transitions just as easily into a dependable trail horse. Traffic, water, mud, and the everyday sights of riding outside are all taken in stride. But perhaps Boon’s finest quality has nothing to do with his training. He simply has an exceptional disposition. Boon likes people. He wants to be with you, wants to work, and seems genuinely pleased to do whatever is asked of him. There is an uncommon amount of willingness in this gelding, and it makes him a pleasure to own as much as he is a pleasure to ride. It would almost be a shame to put a single label on him. Ranch work, cattle, versatility, the show pen, miles down the trail, or an outstanding personal horse—Boon has the ability and foundation to deserve consideration for any of them. Best of all, he has the mind and temperament to be enjoyed by any level rider. Some horses impress you with what they can do. The really good ones impress you with how they go about doing it. Boon is one of the really good ones.
