River — 15-Year-Old Fjord/Paint Mare Here is a unique little mare with a look all her own! River is a 15-year-old half Fjord, half Paint mare standing 15 hh. She is a neat combination of size, substance, and color. I bought River from some local folks who primarily used her for trail riding. We brought her home, saddled her up, and took her around the arena where she showed us three nice gaits, a naturally low headset, and a good stop. She rides comfortably and willingly without needing a bunch of preparation beforehand. River seems like the kind that can have some time off, then you can pull her out, saddle up, and go about your ride. With her trail experience and the way she handles herself in the arena, she should make a fun all-around horse for someone wanting to enjoy the trails, ride around home, or do a little bit of everything. At 15 hh, River is a handy size without being too small, and her Fjord/Paint combination certainly gives her a cool look. A neat, uncomplicated mare that rides great and is ready for her next home!
