Honda's multipurpose FourTrax Foreman ATVs not only provide reliable transportation around the farm, ranch, acreage, or orchard, but also cargo hauling and towing capability. Among the models in the family are the FourTrax Foreman Rubicon 4x4, built for a smooth ride and traction, and the more basic FourTrax Foreman 4x4.

Both ATV models have a TraxLok 2WD/4WD selector and a locking front differential, so muddy conditions and hillsides don’t pose any problems. They use a fuel-injected, 518-cc engine with ample torque and low- and mid-range power. The longitudinally mounted, liquid-cooled motor is a single-cylinder OHV four-stroke with two valves per cylinder. The machines feature electric starters with kick-start backups.

    The FourTrax Foreman Rubicon 4x4

Honda’s FourTrax Foreman Rubicon 4x4 differs from the non-Rubicon model with its independent dual-arm rear suspension tuned for comfortable ride quality. The Rubicon comes in four trim levels, all with an automatic clutch and most with Electric Power Steering (EPS).

Honda offers the Rubicon with either a manual transmission or Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). The latter offers a high and a low gear range, which Honda says is an exclusive in an ATV with an independent rear suspension.

The FourTrax Foreman Rubicon 4x4 has a towing capacity of 1,322 pounds (600 kilograms). Its front rack can carry up to 99 lbs (45 kg), and its rear rack has a remarkable 187-lb (85-kg) capacity. The ATV’s racks and utility box are compatible with modular Honda Pro-Connect accessories, and the alternator is powerful enough to run electrical add-ons, Honda says.

The Rubicon has 9.7 to 9.8 inches (246 to 249 millimeters) of ground clearance and an independent double-wishbone front suspension. It rides on 25-in. (635-mm) wheels with dual disc brakes front and rear. The Deluxe trim level includes contrast-cut aluminum wheels, a color-matched suspension, and painted bodywork.

The ATV’s color choices, dependent on trim level, include Honda Phantom Camo, Matte Blue Metallic, Red, Matte Forged Bronze, and the new Black Forest Green.

    The FourTrax Foreman 4x4

The FourTrax Foreman 4x4 is similar to the Rubicon but has a swingarm rear suspension and drum brakes in the rear. It can tow up to 848 lbs (385 kg), and carry up to 88 lbs (40 kg) on the front rack and 176 lbs (80 kg) on the rear rack.

The Foreman 4x4’s three trim levels include one with Electric Power Steering and another with EPS and push-button gear shifting. Its five-speed transmission has a reverse gear that the manufacturer says is easy to use.

The FourTrax Foreman 4x4 comes in Honda Phantom Camo, Red, Black Forest Green, and Harvest Beige, depending on the trim level selected.
