Can-Am Introduces 2027 Outlander Max X MR ATV Configuration For Mudding Enthusiasts
Can-Am recently unveiled its 2027 model year lineup of Outlander all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), highlighted by the availability of an optional 10.25-inch touchscreen display on select Outlander XT and Backcountry models and factory-installed accessories for Outlander Pro variants. The biggest change, however, is a new Max configuration of the Outlander X MR designed specifically for mudding enthusiasts.
The new variant features a 60.8-inch (154-centimeter) wheelbase designed to enhance stability when tackling thick mud, steep hills, and uneven trails, and introduces a two-person riding platform to the X MR lineup.
Taking Riders To The Max
Compared with the Outlander X MR’s 52.8-in. (134-cm) wheelbase, the Outlander Max X MR’s 60.8-in. wheelbase provides a longer footprint to help improve stability in extreme riding conditions. The ATV rolls on 30-in. XPS Swamp King XL dedicated mud tires wrapped around 14-in. aluminum wheels. The Max X MR integrates a full skid plate, a rear bumper, and a relocated front mud bumper with a winch mount for a 3,500-pound (1,588-kilogram) winch equipped with synthetic rope.
The Max X MR is powered by a 101-horsepower (74-kilowatt), liquid-cooled Rotax 1000R engine paired with a pDrive primary CVT transmission. Can-Am says the 1000R boasts a strategically positioned air intake and exhaust and model-specific calibration. The drivetrain offers riders selectable two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive, and lock four-wheel drive with a Visco-4Lok front differential.
Outlander Pro Accessories
Buyers considering one of the five Outlander Pro models available for 2027 can expect factory-installed accessories such as hand guards, fender flares, footwell protectors, and a trailer hitch mount. Designed for both recreational riding and demanding workloads, the Outlander Pro is aimed at farm and ranch operations, landowners, sports complex managers, and other users focused on boosting their productivity.
Standard equipment includes a heavy-duty front bumper, a full skid plate, and fender flares. The ATV offers a towing capacity of up to 1,830 pounds (830 kilograms) and up to 9 gallons (34 liters) of storage.
A Larger Screen Option
The 10.25-in. touchscreen display option available for the 2027 Outlander XT and Outlander Backcountry models provides integrated GPS navigation, enhanced connectivity, and over-the-air software updates. Outlander XT variants target recreational and utility buyers looking for an ATV capable of trail riding, property maintenance, hunting and fishing outings, and common utility tasks.
The Outlander Backcountry, which sports an exclusive MultiCam Black styling, is a good fit for backcountry explorers navigating rough trails, unpredictable mountain roads, and more.
