Honda recently announced upgrades to the popular Pioneer 700 side-by-side utility vehicle for the 2026 model year, including increased storage capacity, new accessory options, and enhanced debris protection. The Pioneer 700 offers six trim levels, each featuring a 675cc fuel-injected engine, an automatic transmission, and long-travel suspension.

    Pioneer 700 Details

The Pioneer 700 was Honda’s first utility side-by-side when it debuted in 2014. It has been available in 2- and 4-seat configurations from day one. Honda introduced Deluxe versions with aluminum wheels and electric power steering in 2017. Comfort features such as tilt steering and front-door-mounted beverage holders were added in 2023. The 2026 model year refresh further increases storage capacity, improves vehicle protection, and adds convenience features.

"The Pioneer 700 has always delivered on Honda's promise of reliability, ease of use, and overall performance," says Colin Miller, manager of public relations at American Honda. "Now, with key upgrades for 2026, our original Pioneer is even more practical and functional than ever, thanks to additional options for carrying personal items and cargo, as well as convenience-focused updates. From recreational trail riding to hard work, the Pioneer 700 delivers as a capable multipurpose side-by-side."

    What’s New For 2026

    • 2-seat configurations have a pair of underbed storage compartments with a combined volume of 29.4 liters
    • Two under-dash storage compartments holding a total of 10 L are included on all trim levels
    • The glove box contains a new USB-C port for charging electronic devices
    • Kenda Mastodon AT tires provide improved traction on varying terrain
    • New skid plates for improved protection of the undercarriage
    • New front guards
    • Thicker B-pillar tubing for a stronger rollover protection system (ROPS)

    Available Trim Levels

The Pioneer 700 is available in six trim levels, with three options for each configuration, to allow users to tailor their side-by-side to their needs. The Deluxe trim builds on the Standard, offering black aluminum wheels, electric power steering, a 12-volt in-bed outlet, and dual bed lights. The Forest trim level kicks it up another notch with an extended-coverage front bumper, a 4,500-pound (2,041-kilogram) Warn winch, and the TrueTimber Atera camo pattern.

    Other Key Features

    • 4-seat configurations have the same overall dimensions as their 2-seat counterparts and are equipped with Honda’s QuickFlip seating system to easily transition among 2-, 3-, and 4-seat setups; in the 2-person configuration, the rear seats stow away for full use of the dump cargo bed
    • Operators can personalize their vehicles with accessories, including a snowplow, a winch, a GPS unit, fender flares, a Bluetooth speaker, a tip-out windshield, a wiper-washer kit, a floor-storage unit, and more
    • Powered by a 675-cc fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, overhead-valve, single-cylinder 4-stroke engine
