Make Light Work Out Of Heavy-Haul Transport With FR8Star
Whether you sell a tractor through AuctionTime.com or several pieces of heavy machinery through print ads and listings on MachineryTrader.com, your customers often need a reliable heavy-haul transportation method to bring their new purchases home. That’s where FR8Star comes in.
FR8Star offers buyers free access to shipping quotes from a network of over 20,000 vetted transportation professionals, qualified to handle oversized, overweight, and complex loads in the United States, Canada, and internationally.
As a product of Sandhills Global, FR8Star is built into TruckPaper.com, TractorHouse.com, MarketBook.ca, and several other platforms. Buyers simply click the FR8Star Get Shipping Quotes button on any asset listing to request a free freight quote.
How It Works For Buyers
FR8Star streamlines the transportation booking process for everything from boxed or palletized less-than-truckload (LTL) freight to large machinery, such as off-highway trucks. For assets requiring overseas shipping, FR8Star can coordinate safe passage with freight forwarders to move equipment through any port worldwide.
No matter what is being shipped, the FR8Star process works in four easy steps:
1. Post a load. The shipper starts by clicking the button on a listing (this is the preferred option, as FR8Star will automatically pull in load details from the listing) or visiting FR8Star.com and clicking Ship A Load Now. The shipper confirms/enters shipment details and posts the load.
2. Receive quotes. A shipper will often start receiving quotes within 30 seconds. Bids are transparent and all-inclusive, clearly disclosing permits, escorts, and other special considerations.
3. Compare bids and select. The shipper can review the bids and the carriers themselves, including customer reviews and ratings, to decide which bid is best suited to the transport requirements.
4. Coordinate and wait for delivery. Once the bid is awarded, FR8Star will release the shipper’s information to the transport company. The two parties work together to determine the truck and equipment to be used, communication methods for keeping in touch during shipping, and payment details. The transport company confirms the load details, dispatches the truck, and gets the asset moved.
How It Works For Carriers & Brokers
Transport companies in the FR8Star network use the FR8Star Carrier Load Board to filter leads and pinpoint those matching their expertise and equipment.
Leads are routinely sourced from Sandhills trade sites and auction platforms, including AuctionTime.com and Equipmentfacts.com. The FR8Star Dashboard helps haulers efficiently manage communications, contracts, billing, and payment processing.
How The Exclusive FR8Star Group Works
When you become a member of the Exclusive FR8Star Group, you gain access to an elite group of transporters handpicked for their outstanding service. As a member, you can lock in a rate with a transport company, which allows you to include the freight cost in an asset’s final sale price. Membership also enables bypassing down payments, awarding a bid, and paying later. Ask your Sandhills representative for details.
